Amazon initially announced the autonomous flying camera last year, but said it's now opening invite-only availability to purchase the Ring-made camera for $250. The Always Home Camera works as a small drone that can go anywhere in your home to show you what’s going on while you’re away.
The device is much more convenient than buying multiple cameras to shoot at different locations in your home. Amazon showcased the device’s capabilities on Tuesday in a video that details how the camera maneuvers through your home and what the point of view looks like as it moves around.
“This device uses a combination of active sensors and advanced navigation algorithms to fly along your custom, predetermined paths when triggered by a Ring Alarm sensor or within the Ring App,” Ring detailed in its official press release.
